News: Because sometimes the title says it all...

Rock Band is going take on Guitar Hero III in a battle of the bands when it hits stores on November 23. First, the game bundle (which includes a guitar, microphone and drum kit) is going to be retailing at $170 as opposed to the originally suspected $200 price tag.

In addition to the next-generation versions, the Rock Band bundle is coming to the PlayStation 2 for $160. It was previously announced that Rock Band would be heading to PS2 but no release date or price was mentioned for the US version of the game. Now last-generation owners will be able to rock out before the end of the year Ц good news for those of you who haven't yet moved into next-generation gaming.

Being a next-gen game at its core, the PS2 version of Rock Band will be missing some of the features of its Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 counterparts; downloadable albums won't be available. However, 10 songs have been announced for the single player career mode thus far including the Rolling Stones' СGimme Shelter' and the Beastie Boys' СSabotage'.

This is really turning into a battle of the bands with the game available to a wider audience (with the PS2 version) and lower price of the next-gen versions.
