News: For those keeping score at home, this is the third Halo Wars release date.
Share N4G : News for Gamers

A trio of big games have new release dates including one that is working on its third confirmed release date.

First up, Sony Pictures has announced that Ghostbusters will arrive on the DS, PC, PS2, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360 on June 16. The Ghostbusters movie will be released on Blu-ray the same day. Can you say "bustin' makes me feel good"?

Next comes word from Electronic Arts that The Godfather II will be released for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on February 24. Developed by EA Redwood Shores, players that pre-order the game will be able to download a special character that will add some extra muscle to the Corleone crime family:

Players who pre-order The Godfather II at participating retailers worldwide will receive an exclusive crew member, named Tommy Cipolla, to hire into their family. While the other soldiers at the start of the game come equipped with one specialty and level-one firearms, Tommy will be the only crew member to possess two specialties – arsonist and medic – as well as carry a level-two double-barreled shotgun. With Tommy in your family, players will have a strategic advantage in the game, using his advanced skills either directly in battle, or sending him to take over and defend rackets on his own.

Finally, Microsoft has announced yet another release date for Halo Wars. The first Halo spinoff will now be released on February 28, a full three days earlier than the last "confirmed" release date. But if even that date seems too far away, Microsoft has also said a demo of the game will be made available on Xbox Live on February 5.

UPDATE: It appears there was a bit of a miscommunication when Microsoft announced the new release date for Halo Wars at their CES keynote. There actually was no new release date and the game's original release date of March 3 is the real release date. However, the demo will still be added to Live on February 5.

We'll have more on these three very anticipated games soon.
