News: CD Projekt RED dropping loading times, optimizing performance and re-hashing English-language gameplay.

An ?Enhanced Edition? of The Witcher will be coming in May according to developer CD Projekt RED. The new edition will be available at retail as well as in patch form for those whom already purchased the title. The re-done title will come complete with additional features which are outlined via a YouTube video from the company, the additions will focus on two aspects that the developers thought were lacking, technology and English-translation.

The company believes that one of the major issues affecting The Witcher is the technical aspects. To remedy this the developers will remove or lower any technical obstacles that may hinder gameplay including a drastic 80% reduction in loading times, better optimization on various PC configurations, and more precise interactivity and combat.

The other area major issue in the company's eyes is the English translation of the game. When porting the title to the English language the developers removed much of the dialog causing the title to feel flat when compared with other languages. The Witcher Enhanced Edition will feature a completely recreated English-language version to rectify the situation by bringing the same level of polish and atmosphere to the English speaking world as was seen for other tongues.

Perfection is something to strive for in every facet of life and it is refreshing to see a game company to not only come out and admit its mistakes, but to fix them in a timely fashion.
