News: Soundtrack CD and downloadable content for upcoming Guitar Hero III is announced.

Guitar Hero! Anyone who doesn't understand that exclaim is dead to us, but now there's even more reason to get excited about this coming October's big hitter with recent discussion of a bonus soundtrack CD.

Record label Interscope is currently busy at work on a Guitar Hero III soundtrack CD featuring music from the game. Full details aren't available as of yet, although according to the game's songs Sonic Youth's ?Kool Thing', AFI's ?Miss Murder' and Queen Of The Stoneage's ?3's and 7's' will be on the disc.

As with RedOctane's Guitar Hero II on Xbox 360, Guitar Hero III will also feature Xbox Live Marketplace downloadable song content. Xbox 360 owners who purchase the upcoming soundtrack will also be treated to a code which they can input online to download the likes of AFI's ?Carcinogen Crush', Nick Zinner's version of Marilyn Manson's ?Putting Holes In Happiness' and Flyleaf's ?Tina'. Whether PlayStation 3 owners will be able to download these songs through the PlayStation Network has not been announced.

The CD will be released on October 30 following the retail game's shipping date of October 28, and is currently listed at a very reasonable $14.99 on
