Battlefield 3 brings down the house

On September 29 players can test drive the multiplayer for Battlefield 3, the much anticipated military shooter that's gunning for Call of Duty's crown. The beta will be available until October 10.

The BF3 beta features one level, Operation Metro, and one game mode, Rush. Any experience players gain will not be carried over into the retail version.

The beta will be available on all systems, through the Playstation Network Store, the Xbox 360 marketplace, and on the PC through EA's Origin service. If you're a PC gamer with an Nvidia card, make sure to grab their custom drivers for the demo. You can also have your system benchmarked for the game.

Early access has been given to those who pre-ordered, or registered their copies of Medal of Honor: Limited Edition. Doing so now will not grant you access, sadly.

There have been numerous phishing scams offering beta keys. Don't download any files or take any surveys. Unless you already got an official e-mail from EA, you're not getting in early.
