News: And Kane and Lynch 2 will be coming this September... supposedly.
Share N4G : News for Gamers

Eidos President Ian Livingstone was recently in India to attend the Golden Cursor Animation Awards. While in Mumbai, Livingstone sat down for an interview with Indian gaming site GamingIndians.com and confirmed that Eidos has a ton of sequels to almost all of their most popular games in development.

First, he confirmed that original developer IO Interactive is working on Hitman 5:

[Hitman 5 is] being worked on, but there’s been no announcement on the release date yet. We haven’t even announced the game yet, so everything you hear about the next Hitman game is purely speculation at this point.

Next up, Livingstone dated IO Interactive's other project, Kane & Lynch 2, for a release this September, even though the game has yet to be formally announced. Although he did say there was a possibility the game could be delayed.

Livingstone's final confirmation was that Eidos is hard at work on Tomb Raider 9. As has been the case with the last three entries in the franchise, this is the one that will completely change the way people think about Lara Croft:

The next Tomb Raider, I think, will surprise a lot of people and reinvigorate the franchise. There are some remarkable things we’re doing in the next Tomb Raider to make you say, “Oh Lara, I love you so much!”

Eidos Interactive's President closed with a few other confirmations including strongly hinting that Eidos Montreal is working on Thief IV and revealing that their other project, Deus Ex 3, won't be released until 2010 (but that's hard a surprise). 2010 will also be the year when Eidos will break away from sequels as Livingstone said the company plans to release at least one game in a new franchise soon.

It is currently unknown which platforms any of the games Liveingstone discussed will appear on.

We'll have more soon.
