3D Realms has chosen to confirm the rumors of their eminent demise with one simple sentence on their official site, 3DRealms.com:

Thanks for being fans and for all your support.

The page (which is being hammered with heavy traffic at the moment) also includes a picture of the Duke Nukem Forever team.
