Konami publishing Saw this October @ Gaming Target

News: Silent Hill publisher becomes final piece to publishing the game based on Saw.

Variety is reporting that Konami, makers of the Silent Hill series, will be publishing Saw: The Video Game this October, alongside the sixth Saw movie's theatrical debut.

Saw was left in limbo after previous publisher Brash Entertainment filed for bankruptcy, but thanks to Konami, the game will be released for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It is being developed by Zombie and will not be based on any of the Saw movies, instead telling a side story that never made it to the movie screen.

According to Variety, Tobin Bell will reprise the role of Jigsaw for the game, although Konami would not confirm this. In Saw: The Video Game, players will be placed in the shoes of one of Jigsaw's victims, who has to direct other characters on how to escape from his signature puzzle traps. Konami executives are saying the game will be just as bloodsoaked as the movie series:

"'Saw' for us is [...] about graphic, intense horror that overwhelms you," David Daniels, director of marketing for Konami. "We want players to turn away from the screen for just a moment because of the visual intensity."
