News: Hey Jude! The Beatles game is officially announced!

After months of protests that their Beatles game would not be "just a Rock Band game", Harmonix has announced that The Beatles: Rock Band will be coming to the PlayStation 3, Wii and Xbox 360 on September 9 (AKA 9/9/09).

However, even with an official title, confirmed platforms and a release date, Harmonix is still not ready to reveal any more details about the game. It will include Beatles songs (covering "the legacy and evolution of the band's legendary career") and it will be playable with a standard set of Rock Band instruments, but that's about it.

Oh, they also revealed that the game would be packaged in a limited edition band bundle that would include Rock Band instruments based on the real instruments wielded by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr.

Speaking of bundles, Harmonix has also revealed the MSRP of the three Beatles bundles they plan to offer (all prices apply to all platforms):

Game Only: $59.99 MSRP
Game and Guitar: $99.99 MSRP
Limited Edition Premium Bundle: $249.99 MSRP

Ouch. Better start saving your pennies now.
