News: "Going Country" Pack available next week.

Harmonix has let out a rebel yell as they've announced that the Rock Band "Going Country" Pack will be available on December 16 on the Xbox 360 and December 18 on the PlayStation 3. The five song pack will include:

  • Brad Paisley - "Mud on the Tires"
  • Brooks & Dunn - "Hillbilly Deluxe"
  • Dierks Bentley - "Free & Easy (Down the Road I Go)"
  • Dixie Chicks - "Sin Wagon"
  • Miranda Lambert - "Gunpowder & Lead"

The entire pack will set country music fans back $8.49 (or 680 Microsoft Points on the Xbox 360) while individual songs will be priced at $1.99 (or 160 Microsoft Points on the Xbox 360).

This quintet of songs also pushes the number of songs available on the Rock Band platform (both on disc and available as downloads) over 500. Harmonix has also said that Rock Band and Rock Band 2 owners have paid for more than 28 million songs since the original game was released in November 2007.

At a minimum of $1 per song, that's quite the chunk of change for Harmonix.
