The Getaway: Black Monday

The Getaway

Written by Matt Swider  on June 04, 2008

News: London Studio slashes two.

The Getaway and Eight Days, two PS3 projects by Sony's London Studio for, have gone from MIA to KIA this morning. GamesIndustry.BIZ received a statement from SCEE saying production on the two games "will cease immediately due to the redistribution of resources and budget."

"This decision was made following an internal review of all games and it was deemed that with the incredibly strong list of exclusive first party titles coming up both this year and in the near future, resource should be reallocated to enhance those projects closer to completion."

London Studio is currently working on Home and SingStar Vol. 2 for PS3 and is also the innovator behind PS2's EyeToy, all of which are unique projects that couldn't be further from the mainstream sameness of action titles like The Getaway and Eight Days.
