News: Enter Metallica.

Aerosmith isn't the only band in town getting its own edition of Guitar Hero. Guitar Hero: Metallica was unearthed when GameSpot found the game mentioned in an Activision SEC filing.

It states:

"In fiscal 2009, we plan to publish Guitar Hero: On Tour for the NDS; Guitar Hero: Aerosmith, Guitar Hero: Metallica, and Guitar Hero IV across multiple platforms."

If the pattern seen in Guitar Hero: Aerosmith holds true, we should see Guitar Hero Metallica make it to Xbox 360, PS3, Wii and PS2. We might also see the forthcoming drums and microphone accessories in this cover edition because it'll be out after Guitar Hero: World Tour. I'm sure Lars Ulrich wouldn't have it any other way.
