News: Microsoft's system receives an exclusive launch window.
I've been banging on the drum all day since November, when Rock Band released in North America. However, players across the pond haven't been so fortunate, like a pack of anxious groupies only able to dream of the virtual rock n' roll lifestyle.
But, fear not fellow Brits and company. EA, MTV Games and Harmonix are invading the UK by beginning their Eurotour in your country on May 23... if you own an Xbox 360. Rock Band will have an exclusive launch window on Microsoft's system until the summer, when the official press release says it'll be available for "additional platforms," which, translating the EA UK press release from English-to-American, means PS3 and Wii (I know I had to go use babelfish, too).
To make up for the six months of waiting for what has to be a Civil War-era ship to cross the Atlantic with the game, Rock Band will feature nine new German, French and UK songs:
? Blur ?Beetlebum? (English)
? Oasis ?Rock ?n' Roll Star? (English)
? Tokio Hotel ?Monsoon? (English)
? Muse ?Hysteria? (English)
? Les Wampas ?Manu Chao? (French)
? Playmo ?New Wave? (French)
? Die Toten Hosen ?Hier Kommt Alex? (German)
? Juli ?Perfekte Welle? (German)
? H-Block X ?Countdown to Insanity? (German)
International music lovers in the U.S. who recognize any of these names can download them on May 27... four whole days after Europeans get to try them out! Unbelievable.
