Special: The people have spoken.

Previously on Game Developer Survivor...
The developers put their sales records on the line and in the end Ken Levine was shocked, Shinji Mikami is no longer a resident of this competition, John Carmack was doomed and Fumito Ueda was colossally eliminated.

Episode 4 "The People Polled" - A poll with the remaining developers has lived in the Gaming Target navigation bar for the last week. We checked in each day with the results to see which developer captured the fancy of our readers. Two will be eliminated and three will move on as we march to the finale.

Day 1 - Saturday

After one day of voting, Shigeru Miyamoto stormed out to a huge lead with 75% of the vote. Gabe Newell and Will Wright were unable to score any votes on the first day.

Day 2 - Sunday

On the second day, Miyamoto still held a commanding lead, but a smattering of support for Hideo Kojima, Gabe Newell and Will Wright brought his percentage of votes down to 65%. Continued support for David Jaffe kept him comfortably in second place.

Day 3 - Monday

Kojima supports continued to come out of the woodwork on the third day as he pulled himself into a tie with Jaffe. New votes for Will Wright continue to chip away at Miyamoto's lead while Newell continued to languish at the back of the pack.

Day 4 - Tuesday

Metal Gear Solid hype continued to fuel Kojima's comeback on the fourth day as he left Jaffe in the dust and took sole possession of second place. Gabe Newell supports also managed to pull him even with Will Wright once again.

Day 5 - Wednesday

Shigeru Miyamoto dropped to only 50% of the vote on day five, while a surge of Will Wright fans sent him flying past David Jaffe. Gabe Newell continued to languish at the back of the pack.

Day 6 - Thursday

After losing ground to both Kojima and Wright, a wave of support for David Jaffe pushed him back into the top three on day six. Will Wright continued to garner support and held on to the third slot, as he forced a tie with Jaffe. Both took away votes from Miyamoto and Kojima, who's percentages shrank. Gabe Newell continued to languish at the back of the pack.

The Tribe (AKA our readers) has spoken...
With the final votes coming in fast and furious on Friday morning, the winners can be crowned and the losers can be eliminated.

Day 7 - Friday

In the end, Shigeru Miyamoto held onto his enormous lead with a little over 40% of the vote. Coming in a solid second is Metal Gear Solid man Hideo Kojima, with third place going to Will Wright in a squeaker. Sadly, it looks like David Jaffe is not God of Game Developer Survivor and Gabe Newell is only half-loved as both have been eliminated.

Next time on Game Developer Survivor...
The finale is here and we sift through the evidence from the previous four events to crown the Sole Game Developer Survivor!
