News: Being "reinvented for consoles" says Martin Tremblay.

Once again, the console port of the alternate history strategy title World in Conflict is being delayed. This time, Sierra has given us a rough estimate that the new release date is fall 2008.

Sierra has also confirmed that the formerly Xbox 360-only title will also be coming to the PlayStation 3.

While Sierra has still not given any specific reason for the delay, they did manage to say that additional single and multi-player content not found in the original PC release would be a part of the deal if you can wait a little longer.

“World in Conflict was one of the best games on any platform in 2007 and its innovative action-focused gameplay makes it a perfect fit for the transition to consoles,” said Martin Tremblay, president of worldwide studios, Sierra Entertainment. “World in Conflict is being reinvented for Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 system, with innovative features and new single player and multiplayer content created for the console audience. World in Conflict on consoles will be an amazing extension of an already great gaming franchise.”

We'll have more soon.
