News: Build monsters on your DS and Wii.

Monster Lab was first revealed a few months ago in the British press, but today, Eidos has officially announced the Wii and DS game for an American release as well.

Monster Lab is an action RPG that takes the collection mentality of Pokemon and fuses it with a scenario right out of a Bugs Bunny cartoon (particularly the ones with the big red monster, Gossamer). The game takes place in the "Uncanny Valley" and players will fill out the labcoat of a scientist fighting against the evil Baron Mharti.

Players will build a monster in their lab and send it out into the Uncanny Valley in search of new monster parts, completing quests and minigames and hunting other monsters.

Monster Lab will also include online play and over 100 million monster part variations.

УMonster Lab will offer a wealth of fresh ideas to both Wii and DS players,Ф said Fabien Rossini, Global Brand Controller, Eidos. УThese include gesture based combat, a compelling on-line fighting and trading system and total customization of the player's monster.Ф

Monster Lab is being developed by Backbone Entertainment and is currently scheduled to ship sometime in 2008.
