News: Bad news for people looking to find a Wii under the tree.
Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime recently spoke to the San Jose Mercury News and he dropped a big bombshell on parents and gamers expecting to get a Wii this holiday season. According to Fils-Aime, Nintendo does not expect to have enough Wii consoles in store to meet the system's growing demand.
Fils-Aime was quoted in the newspaper as saying:
We're working very hard to make sure that consumers are satisfied this holiday, but I can't guarantee that we're going to meet demand. As a matter of fact, I can tell you on the record we won't.
He did pass on some advice on the best way to score a Wii:
Hit the likely suspects (Target, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Toys R Us, GameStop, Circuit City)
Ask the managers about delivery schedules
Continue calling back and stopping in on a regular basis as Nintendo plans to ship a stready stream of Wiis all season long.
My advice, if you want a Wii, buy it as soon as you can. Especially before Super Mario Galaxy gets released.
