News: Could PlayStation 3 cost $400 next year?
PlayStation 3 will see a $200 price cut by next year if analyst Michael Pachter is correct.
The Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst predicts that Sony will take the first $100 off of the 80 GB PS3 in preparation for the holidays. However, this $600 to $500 reduction will cause the MotorStorm pack-in to cease, according to the
analyst's comments.
The second Benjamin Franklin will be dropped no later than April 2008, making the 80 GB model cost $399 in the end. The two $100 dollar price trimmings should make the system most appealing, especially around the release of must-own exclusives like MGS4 and Killzone 2.
