News: Get washed up on that deserted island one more time.

Konami has announced they are readying a followup to their unique DS title Lost in Blue. Lost in Blue 2 will once again follow a man and a woman marooned on a seemingly deserted island as they struggle to survive and it will once again use the stylus to simulate many types of survival techniques.

The stylus will be used to simulate things like carpentry, wicker work, skin diving, food preparation and exploration. These skills will be crucial to surprising the harsh climate of the island, as well as the hurricanes and earthquakes that may rattle the environment from time to time. When the times comes, the stylus will also be used as a makeshift weapon to help off wild animals.

The two characters will have individual characteristics that will make using both very important to the game. According to Konami, "the male character [is] more physically adept at climbing, fighting and recovering his energy levels, while the girl is more accurate with a bow and arrow, can hold her breath underwater for longer and is more adept at finding ingredients for meals."

Lost in Blue 2 is currently scheduled for an early 2007 release. We'll have more soon.
