News: Their DC Comics MMO will be the first game to use Epic's engine.

Sony Online Entertainment has announced they have licensed Epic's Unreal Engine 3 for use in future games on the PS3 and PC.

The first project that will use the Engine is their Massively Multiplayer Online game based on the DC Comics universe. The game has been announced for a late 2007 release on the PS3, PSP and PC.

While the PSP version was not mentioned in the announcement, Sony has previously said that players will be able to transfer their avatars between each version, so some modified version of the Engine might be used there too.

We'll keep you updated on the DC Comics MMO and all other UE3 news. Same Bat-time, same Bat-channel.
