News: Ubisoft announces it and doesn't reveal much more than we already know (or could guess).

After all the leaks and half-announcements, Ubisoft today officially announced Red Steel for the Revolution. They also confirmed that Red Steel will be a launch title.

УWe're honored to announce this exciting new franchise and we're confident that Red Steel will be the must-have title for the Revolution when it launches,Ф said Serge Hascoet, chief creative officer at Ubisoft. УWe have been working closely with Nintendo to take full advantage of the innovative controller to create a thrilling experience that can only exist on the Revolution.Ф

Ubisoft's sword and shotgun-fueled tapestry of Japanese gang warfare will make full use of the Revolution controller.

УNintendo is excited to have Ubisoft bring Red Steel to the Revolution launch lineup,Ф said Reggie Fils-Aime, executive vice president of sales and marketing at Nintendo of America. УUbisoft makes some of the most innovative and critically acclaimed games in the industry and from what we have seen from Red Steel it is going to be a standout exclusive title on the Revolution.Ф

Red Steel will be playable at E3 along with many of Nintendo's other Revolution offerings.
