News: Next-gen.biz has some juicy rumors.
Next Generation is reporting that "well placed industry sources" are telling them some big things about the PlayStation 3.
According to these insiders, Sony is readying an Xbox Live-like service dubbed PlayStation HUB. It will include similar features to Live like "chat, downloadable demos, independent games and online play." Naturally, these insiders also say that Sony media content will be available for download through an online store.
These insiders would go on to say that the system is currently planned for a September 16 launch in Japan and a September 21 launch in the US. However, Sony's official site still sports the "Spring 2006" release date.
Next-gen closed their article by saying Sony will officially confirm these rumors in the next few weeks. So I guess we'll find out for sure soon enough.
