Go! Sudoku

News: And Mastiff takes a swing at Santa.
Share N4G : News for Gamers

I am not one to tempt fate. I don't necessarily believe in it, but I sure as hell am not going to tempt it. So when Mastiff announced Dr. Sudoku for the GBA, their swipe at Santa just seems wrong.

"Once we release Dr. Sudoku for the Game Boy Advance, the Fat Man better watch out!" asserted Bill Swartz, Head Woof at Mastiff. "Sure, he's riding high now, with his reindeer, television specials, and elves, but December has to end some time - and that's when Sudoku fever will take over!"

I mean that's a surefire way to end up with coal.

At the center of the flap is the Worldtracker ranking of search terms. Sudoku is 132 while Santa weighs in at 134. Dude, Bill Swartz, don't say I didn't warn you.

Dr. Sudoku brings the popular puzzle form to video games for the first time and is Mastiff's first game in a series of projects based on the puzzle art.

Developed by Success with puzzles by Skynet Corporation, Dr. Sudoku will offer 1000 puzzles and an option to create your own. A Tutorial Mode will also be offered for those that need a little more help.

For those that are unfamiliar with Sudoku, here's a quick explanation from our friends at Mastiff:

"Sudoku looks like a math problem, but it's not. The rules are simple: start with a grid consisting of nine three-by-three squares in which some of the numbers are already supplied. Fill in the blank squares so that each column, row, and three-by-three grid contains a number from 1 to 9 with none repeated."

Dr. Sudoku is scheduled for release on February 10. We'll have more on Dr. Sudoku soon, unless Skynet unleashes Judgment Day.
