News: First The Godfather, now "Dirty" Harry Callahan. You watch, Apocalypse Now is next.

Warner Brothers Interactive has jumped on the next-generation bandwagon as they are bringing Dirty Harry, his Magnum .357 and Clint Eastwood to unnamed next-generation consoles. Dirty Harry was released in 1971 and the last film in the series, The Dead Pool in 1988.

Warner Brothers has apprently been developing the game for some time now, however a release date has not been named.

In addition to signing Mr. Eastwood to lend his voice and likeness to "Dirty" Harry Callahan, WB Interactive has contracted the actor's Malpaso Company to help with the producing duties. Eastwood himself will also oversee the production of the game and be a consultant to the development team regarding their extension of the Dirty Harry universe.

"This will be an opportunity to satisfy the many requests over the years to continue the 'Dirty Harry' legacy, only now in the video game medium," said Clint Eastwood. "Creating 'Dirty Harry' video games will also introduce this memorable film character to new generations on a medium they appreciate."

Once again, none of the next-generation consoles have been specifically tapped as a home for Dirty Harry. But this isn't the first time Harry has picked up his Magnum with a controller. A Dirty Harry game was released for the NES back in 1990.

Will the new Dirty Harry surface on the next-gen console you're eyeing? Well do you feel lucky? Well do you, punk?

[I couldn't resist, that made my day]
