News: Are you a champion game player. Prove it and win the green.

Twin Galaxies, the web's largest "electronic scoreboard" of video game records has posted their 2005 list of bounties for high scores and (nigh-)impossible feats. The 126 awards range from $25 (for Beavis and Butthead on the Genesis) to $2500 (for beating wave 99 on Joust 2). If you're looking for something a little more insanse, there's always George Costanza's Frogger record of 863,050 points (which is 420,720 points more than Twin Galaxies official world record). Beating that will net you $1000.

The bounties cover almost every major system including Atari 2600, ColecoVision, Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, Genesis, NES, Super NES, Dreamcast, PSone, PlayStation 2, GameCube, Xbox, arcade games and PC games. A full list of bounties can be found at the Twin Galaxies website.

All records must be submitted via VHS tape and entered by December 31, 2005. And here's a smattering of challenges to get you started:

Halo 2 (Bounty Prize: $150.00) for the Microsoft Xbox
Challenge Rating ? 4.5 (out of 5) Challenge: fastest completion of the entire game on "Legendary" difficulty, without losing a life, in single player mode Rules and Settings ? player may use any weapons and/or vehicles found.

Chronicles of Riddick (Bounty Prize: $75.00) for the Microsoft Xbox Challenge Rating ? 3 (out of 5)

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (Bounty Prize: $75.00) for the Sony Playstation 2 (PS2) Challenge Rating ? 3 (out of 5)
Challenge: fastest completion of the entire game without losing your life, regardless of score, by December 31st, 2005 Rules and Settings ? default, start from a NEW game only

Special Rules (1) ? You are NOT allowed to load a previously saved file at any time; this ?bounty? is for a continuous performance ONLY

Special Rules (2) ? Gamer is not required to complete any non-essential mission

Paper Mario 2 (Bounty Prize: $50.00) for the Nintendo GameCube (GCN) Challenge Rating ? 2 (out of 5) Challenge ? fastest completion of the entire game without losing a life, by December 31st, 2005 Rules and Settings ? default, start from a NEW game only. RULE CLARIFICATION - although I did not specifically state this in the original "Bounty" rules, life shrooms are allowed.

Good luck to all.
