American Tragedy: Terrorists cause tragedy
Shortly before leaving office our former president, Bill Clinton, commented on how he felt the US had been lucky in dealing with terrorist threats in this country, but on this mournful day of September the 11th 2001, it seems our luck has finally run out. Shortly before 9 AM eastern time a plane that had earlier left from a Boston airport was hijacked and crashed into one of the World Trade Center buildings sending the building ablaze. Shortly thereafter a second plane crashes into the 2nd World Trade Center building and explodes. Amidst the chaos taking place in New York a 3rd plane crashes in the Pentagon. A 4th plane crashes lands just outside Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and appears to be a failed hijacking by a terrorist organization. The nation is sent in a panic as all airlines across the nation are shut down and all government buildings are evacuated. President Bush then sent out a press release promising that all possible military action was being taken towards the harrowing events of the day and that Уthe United States will hunt down and punish those responsible for these cowardly acts.Ф
Now, hours after the turmoil from earlier in the day, there are thousands death and even more injured. The terrorist acts upon this country seem to have failed their mission in damaging the American morale; they have done nothing more then strengthen it. In memory of all the passengers, pilots and crew of the US Air and American Airlines flights as well as all present in the World Trade Center and Pentagon at the time of these tragedies, our prayers and thoughts go out to all their family and friends. In this time of great need throughout our country we must all now turn towards God for guidance and strength. The undying American Spirit will not let these criminals get away with what they have done today. We will search them out and make them feel the pain and anguish that they have brought upon an entire nation. And when it is time for their ultimate judgement we will need God to be merciful and forgive these people, because He knows that we, the American people, never will.
