Men in Black II: Alien Escape

Review: I think I actually like the WB show better...yeah, the game is that bad.

Chances are, even if you like the Men in Black movie, the book, the animated series, or even the Will Smith song, you probably won't like the game as much. Men In Black: The Series is just another licensed game that fails to recreate anything and everything that its WB origin offers.

The visuals are done well in some areas and not others. The FMV cinematic sequences and the area backgrounds are done well, but less detail it applied to the actual characters in the game. Nothing spectacular as you play the game, except the color is done fairly well. The audio is very low and sometimes you doubt that its even there. The sound effects are just ok and the well, but you hardly can hear them, and the music is even lower. The sound is lacking everywhere and could have been done better.

The gameplay is the worst part of the game. The controls as well as the speed of the game are sluggish. You are limited to shooting an jumping. Jumping may be frustrating and deadly. Shooting is just...well...shooting, nothing like aiming or anything for a 2D platform. Not the best part of MIB. MIB features nothing of interest. Unless you’re really into the MIB show and love everything MIB series does, you may think this game is good. Yet its still a jumping and shooting platform game, and you may be disappointed.

I wouldn't replay MIB more than once. The game has many flaws, one being no depth. Although some of the FMV sequences are nice, they can't help the gameplay, one of the games most lacking aspects.

Bottom Line
This game isn't worth a purchase, and best not to be uncovered, just like Men In Black wanted.
