Final Fantasy XVI has been on the market for a week and it has had a strong start according to Square Enix. The worldwide shipment and digital sales for Final Fantasy XVI have exceeded three million copies during its first week. This latest Final Fantasy title has players take control of Clive Rosfield in an all-new story that is a bit darker than Final Fantasy fans are used to and takes place in the realms of Valisthea.
If you want to try out Final Fantasy XVI before you buy it there is a demo on the PlayStation Store that you can download free of charge. It is a great way to try out the beginning portion of the game to see if it is something you would like. The demo gives you access to the opening prologue and your save will carry over to the full game if you decide to buy it. In the demo you take control of Clive Rosfield as he goes through a tragic event that sets him down the path to revenge.
The overall story in Final Fantasy XVI introduces players to an epic dark fantasy that takes place in the realms of Valisthea – a land blessed in the light of the Mothercrystals, and where peace falters as the spread of the Blight threatens to destroy their dominions. The fate of the land is decided by the Eikons, mighty summoned beasts and their Dominants, men and women who have been blessed with the ability to call upon and wield them. This is the tale of Clive Rosfield, a warrior granted the title “First Shield of Rosaria '' and sworn to protect his younger brother Joshua, the Dominant of the Phoenix, Eikon of Fire. Before long, Clive will be caught up in a great tragedy and swear revenge on the Dark Eikon known as Ifrit, a mysterious entity that brings calamity in its wake.
