Mario+Rabbids: Sparks of Hope Arrives on Nintendo Switch

News: Mario’s newest adventure with the Rabbids is now available on Nintendo’s portable platform.

Mario+Rabbids: Sparks of Hope is now available on the Nintendo Switch from Ubisoft. This is a brand new adventure featuring Mario, Luigi, Rabbid Peach, and their friends as they set out on a journey to defeat Cursa, an evil entity that is trying to control the universe. There are new Rabbid allies on this adventure, including Edge and their long-time nemesis, Bowser. You will travel the galaxy trying to save Sparks and prevent Cursa and her minions from capturing and using their power.

The single-player campaign in Sparks of Hope combines turn-based tactics with real-time action. You can move freely around your designated area to try and dash through enemies and otherwise try to take them out before they get to you. Each Hero has two action points that you can use to attack your enemies, use an item, or activate a special power. The gameplay has a lot of customization as well offering up as much challenge as you want. If you are a veteran of these types of games you can put it on hard and really have your skills tested. If you are someone new to this genre though, or you just want to kick back and enjoy the story, you can also turn on invulnerability so that you can’t take any damage and you can just watch as things unfold.

In Sparks of Hope, you will head into battle with a team of three heroes and be introduced to more in time. You will be able to upgrade and unlock their abilities through individual skill trees. The default option is for the game to automatically fill these skill trees for you but if you want more control over how your character evolves, you can do it manually as well. You can eventually equip up to two different Sparks to gain different abilities, ranging from powerful elemental attacks to absorbing specific types of damage from enemies. The Sparks themselves can be leveled up as well and you can swap them between Heroes as you see it.

Each planet is open and freely explorable, with a unique atmosphere, setting, and characters. Each one is also filled with side quests, challenges, and secrets, which you can discover and tackle in any order. As you explore the galaxy, you can solve puzzles, engage in surprising activities, and find a variety of collectibles. You can buy Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope at the Ubisoft Store today in Standard or Gold Editions. The Gold Edition includes the Season Pass, with access to upcoming DLC packs with additional story content, new characters, quests, and battles. Rayman will reunite with the Rabbids and star in Sparks of Hope’s third DLC expansion.
