News: Atlus is finally bringing over their popular RPG series to more platforms and Game Pass owners are going to benefit.

”Persona”

Xbox gamers have been asking for it for years and now it is finally happening. Atlus has officially announced that the Persona series is heading to Microsoft’s platform. Not only that but Xbox gamers are getting three Persona games and at least one of them is going to be available through Game Pass, meaning members will be able to download and try out these popular games for free.

The three games that will be arriving on Xbox include Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal. The first one that is going to arrive will be Persona 5 Royal and that will be here on October 21, 2022. Persona 5 Royal takes place in a high school in Tokyo. You are the Joker and you join the Phantom Thieves of Hearts as you try to break the chains of society, infiltrate the minds of the corrupt and try to get people to change their ways. Persona 5 Royal has a new semester at Shujin Academy that wasn’t a part of the original Persona 5 release. It will be available to download for free for Game Pass members beginning October 21.

The other two games that will be released are Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden. We don’t have release dates for those yet but, hopefully, Xbox gamers don’t have to wait too long before they can get their hands on all three adventures.

In Persona 3 Portable, a teenager who was orphaned as a young child returns to the city of his/her childhood. Shortly after transferring to Gekkoukan High School, he/she is attacked by Shadows/creatures that feed on the minds of their victims. The assault awakens his/her Persona, Orpheus, his/her only chance at defeating these creatures of the night. He/she soon discovers that he/she shares this special ability with other students at his new school. From them he/she learns of the Dark Hour, a hidden time that exists between one day and the next, swarming with Shadows. He/she joins the Special Extracurricular Squad (SEES), and with his/her new friends, confronts this evil threat.

Persona 4 Golden takes place in Inaba, a quiet town in rural Japan that sets the scene for budding adolescence. Persona 4 Golden is a coming-of-age story that sets the protagonist and his friends on a journey kickstarted by a chain of serial murders. You will explore meeting kindred spirits, feelings of belonging, and even confronting the darker sides of one’s self.

Persona 5 Royal arrives on October 21. No release date has been publicly announced for Persona 3 Portable or Persona 4 Golden. Have you played any of the Persona games before? If not, will you play them once they are on Xbox and available to download for free as a Game Pass member?
