News: A new online co-op point-and-click murder mystery game is in development and you’ll get to check it out next week.

”Whispers

The Steam Next Fest is almost here. One of the games that will be featured is Whispers in the West from Team Dissonant. Whispers in the West was first announced in April, as one of the London Games Festival 2022 Official Selection games. It is a point-and-click mystery narrative game for 1- 4 players that supports online co-op. Imagine Among Us, but with stories, or Ace Attorney but with online co-op. The game is set in the far reaches of the Wild West. Each story is unique and has an intriguing mystery needing to be solved. To succeed, the players need to work as a team, discuss what information is found, and put the pieces together to decipher the truth.

After 12 months of development, a demo will be released on the Steam platform on June 13th, 2022, during the upcoming Steam Next Fest. However, this will not be the first time the game entered the public eye. Prior to the release, a dozen Twitch streamers were invited to preview the game.

Team Dissonant (Twitter: @TeamDissonant), a small indie game developer based in the UK is behind this project. So far the game has received incredible feedback - Almost everyone who played Whispers in the West described it as a truly unique experience; more than 90% of players who played Whispers in the West are excited to recommend the game to their friends. Being a newer and smaller studio though, they want to receive more feedback through the initial demo release so that they can continue to improve upon what they already have.

Moreover, the team’s ambition does not stop at the demo release. They plan to release more mystery stories after the initial reveal. Also, a highly anticipated custom narrative engine with user-generated content will be in the works soon, to be fully implemented in the near future, to enable players to write their own mysteries.

If this sounds interesting to you, be sure to check the game out next week during the Steam Next Fest. Check out the video below for Whispers in the West and then tell us what you think.
