News: Download the game early so that once April 10 arrives you can immediately begin to explore Midgar without delay.

The Final Fantasy VII Remake is finally almost here. This time next week everyone should hopefully be able to explore a new Midgar with its famous cast of characters. Square Enix has just revealed that if you have pre-ordered the digital version of Final Fantasy VII Remake on the PlayStation Store that you can now pre-load the game. What that means is that you can download the game right now and it will sit on your PS4 hard drive, however, you still won’t be able to play it until April 10. They are allowing everyone to do the pre-load earlier to try and prevent the servers from getting hit really hard on launch day, especially as Sony slows down PSN speeds to try and help with overall internet bandwidth right now. The Final Fantasy VII Remake is supposed to be a huge file as well, rumored to be close to 100GB. With that being the case (and the decreased speeds) you will certainly want to initiate the download as soon as possible.

“We know that due to the COVID-19 pandemic and many people having to stay at home, some of you may be experiencing extra pressure on your internet bandwidth. We wanted to give all our fans some extra time to download the game,” said the game’s producer, Yoshinori Kitase.

The Final Fantasy VII Remake demo is still available on the PlayStation Network if you want to download that and get a small peek at what is to come in the finished version. Additionally, Square Enix has released another trailer for the Final Fantasy VII Remake to show some more of it off to fans. Please note that this trailer does include some spoilers so if you want to go into the game not knowing anything it is probably best not to watch the trailer below.

The Final Fantasy VII Remake is slated to be released on April 10, 2020 for the PlayStation 4. It will arrive on other platforms around this time next year as Sony secured a timed exclusivity window of 12 months. Do you plan on picking up this highly anticipated remake?
