I Have Stopped Looking For Now

News: You will have to wait an extra five weeks to see what Square Enix has done with Cloud and his crew.

If you have been waiting to play the Final Fantasy VII Remake your wait just got a little bit longer. Square Enix has revealed that it is necessary to delay this highly anticipated title a few more weeks to make sure the game is ready to go when it is released. Instead of being able to return to Midgar on March 3, 2020, fans will now have to wait until April 10, 2020, to jump in. That isn’t a huge delay but regardless it is a big disappointment for some fans. We need to keep in mind though that delays are usually a good thing and the majority of the time it results in an even better game. Personally speaking, I would much rather have a five-week delay like this rather than have a buggy game be released in early March and then we have to wait for a patch or two (or several) to be released.

The producer for the Final Fantasy VII Remake, Yoshinori Kitase, released the following statement:

”We know that so many of you are looking forward to the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake and have been waiting patiently to experience what we have been working on. In order to ensure we deliver a game that is in-line with our vision, and the quality that our fans who have been waiting for deserve, we have decided to move the release date to April 10, 2020.

We are making this tough decision in order to give ourselves a few extra weeks to apply final polish to the game and to deliver you with the best possible experience. I, on behalf of the whole team, want to apologize to everyone, as I know this means waiting for the game just a little bit longer.

Thank you for your patience and continued support.”

What do you think about this delay? In the short term, it sucks but I believe it will be beneficial in the long term. Plus now you have time to finish up some other title before embarking once again on Cloud’s adventure. Will you be picking up the Final Fantasy VII Remake when it arrives on April 10, 2020, on the PlayStation 4?
