News: A new mode designed to change how you play and struggle against the horde is part of this new update.

”World

Saber Interactive, in partnership with Focus Home Interactive, has just released the free Proving Grounds update for World War Z. The update features Weekly Challenge mode, a separate playlist with unique gameplay modifiers (e.g., “all weapons are replaced with crossbows” or “players take damage if they’re too close to each other”) designed to dramatically change your play style and keep the struggle against the undead dangerous and exciting each week.
Completing the weekly challenge rewards players with a new currency that can be spent on character customization options like color schemes, headgear, backpack attachments and more. The update also includes the new FN FAL battle rifle, as well as a variety of game fixes and quality-of-life improvements. In addition, players can now purchase the “Biohazard Bundle” DLC bundle for $4.99, featuring three new weapon skins and a tomahawk axe.

The Proving Grounds update rounds out the first season of free content for World War Z, which included “The Undead Sea” Tokyo mission and the six-skulls extreme difficulty setting for all chapters. Season two, coming soon, will add a new survival mode, PvE maps, special zombie, gameplay updates, and even more skins.

Powered by Saber’s dynamic Swarm Engine, World War Z unleashes hundreds of fast-moving, bloodthirsty zombies at a time, able to move and strike as one collective herd, as well as break off as individual attackers. You get to choose from six distinct classes and an arsenal of deadly weapons, explosives, turrets, and traps. You will have to outlive the dead through four-player co-op campaign missions around the world, including New York, Jerusalem, Moscow and Tokyo, and battle both zombies and real human opponents in competitive, team-based Players vs. Players vs. Zombies (PvPvZ) multiplayer.

Check out the new trailer that was released to showcase this update and tell us what you think. Have you picked up World War Z yet? If not, will this update get you to purchase it?
