Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order arrives tomorrow on the Nintendo Switch. Some interesting news has just come out of San Diego Comic Con for those who are waiting to jump into Marvel’s latest adventure. For the first time in the series, Loki joins the alliance as a playable character. The game will also be receiving free updates, as well as a series of paid DLC packs.

The panel at Comic Con announced that new playable characters Cyclops and Colossus would arrive as part of a free update to the game on Aug. 30, followed by a series of alternate outfits for all of the playable characters in the game after launch through Q1 of 2020.

With the paid Expansion Pass for $19.99, you will get access to three exclusive DLC packs as they release. These packs, which won’t be available for individual purchase, will include story content and playable characters from popular franchises like the Fantastic Four, X-Men and Marvel Knights. The first paid DLC pack is due to arrive sometime this fall and will add Moon Knight, Blade, Punisher and Morbius to the playable roster of characters. Details about the two additional paid DLC packs will be announced in the future.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order involves a huge cast of Marvel Super Heroes that includes Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, Iron Man, Captain America, the Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy and X-Men, to name just a few. Players can team up with friends to prevent galactic devastation at the hands of the mad cosmic tyrant Thanos and his ruthless warmasters, The Black Order.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is a title that is participating in Nintendo’s voucher program for the Switch. If you are a Nintendo Switch Online member, you can buy two vouchers for $99.99. You can use these two vouchers to get two games. You can get Super Mario Maker 2 and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, for example. By doing this the games end up costing $50 instead of $60 so you save approximately $20. You can only buy these vouchers during the month of July, however, they are good for up to one year after purchase. Be sure to give this some thought if you are planning on buying the digital version anyways. Check out the trailer below and then tell us what you think. Will you be picking up Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 for the Switch?
