News: Nintendo will offer a wide assortment of activities at PAX East ranging from checking out tournaments to playing some new games.
Nintendo is going to be at PAX East this year with some new games and some tournament action. The final events for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate North America Open 2019 and Splatoon 2 North America Inkling Open 2019 both take place on March 30 at the PAX Arena. Fans with a PAX East Saturday badge are free to attend on a first-come, first served basis. Both tournaments have hosted online qualifiers throughout the past couple of months, all leading to these showdowns that promise to offer a showcase of smashes and splats. The tournaments will also be live-streamed at https://events.nintendo.com/, so anyone that can’t make it to PAX East will still be able to watch and cheer on their favorite competitors.
PAX East attendees who visit Nintendo’s booths will have the opportunity to get hands-on time with upcoming Nintendo Switch games like Yoshi’s Crafted World, which launches on March 29 during PAX East weekend, Dragon Quest Builders 2 from Square Enix, Mortal Kombat 11 from Warner Bros. Interactive and Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night from 505 Games, as well as a wide variety of anticipated indie games.
“PAX East will be really exciting this year. Not only will we have new games for fans to try, but it will also be the culmination of our Nintendo Switch tournaments across North America,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “From the thousands of competitors who began the journey, our finalists rose to the top and are ready to put the skills to the test for everyone in person and watching online.”
In addition to fun playable games, Nintendo’s booth will also feature a memorable photo opportunity inspired by Yoshi’s Crafted World and mini-challenge competitions in the Yoshi’s Crafted World and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate games. Fans that participate in these challenges can receive some fun branded prizes, while supplies last.
