Saber Interactive has revealed that NBA Playgrounds 2 will arrive on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Windows PC on May 22 for $19.99. NBA Playgrounds 2’s first official gameplay trailer shows how it’s taking the series’ over-the-top, two-on-two street action even higher on new playgrounds around the world. New features include Playgrounds Championship mode, a worldwide ranked league with multiple competitive solo and co-op ladders, as well as a new single-player Season mode that recreates the experience of leading a team through the regular season and playoffs. There’s also four-player online matches, co-op matches against AI, improved matchmaking with dedicated servers, the return of three-point contests, custom matches, and more.
Putting the sport’s biggest players front and center, NBA Playgrounds 2 will launch with over 200 current and retired NBA players – including Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, James Harden, Kyrie Irving, LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Anthony Davis, DeMar DeRozan, Damian Lillard, Karl-Anthony Towns, Shaquille O’Neal, Magic Johnson, Dr. J., Allen Iverson and Larry Bird. There are also new moves and power-ups to bust out, improved AI, and new player models and animations.
