News: The top 20 selling games for the month of March have been revealed with both a familiar franchise and a new one securing the top two spots.
The NPD numbers for March are out with the top 20 best selling games. Looking at the list I’m sure there are at least a couple of titles that might be a surprise to some people. That said it is great to see Microsoft’s newest IP Sea of Thieves performing so well in the market. You also have to consider that Sea of Thieves is only available on Xbox One and PC and that Sea of Thieves is available on Xbox Gamepass so you don’t even need to buy the game to play it.
With that being said, here is the Top 20 for the month of March 2018:
1. Far Cry 5
2. Sea of Thieves
3. MLB 18: The Show
4. Kirby Star Allies*
5. Grand Theft Auto V
6. Call of Duty: WWII
7. Mario Kart 8*
8. Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom
9. NBA 2K18
10. Monster Hunter: World
11. Super Mario Odyssey*
12. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild*
13. PUBG**
14. Rainbow Six Siege
15. A Way Out**
16. Assassin’s Creed Origins
17. Dragon Ball: Fighter Z
18. FIFA 18**
19. Splatoon 2*
20. UFC 3
The games that have a single asterisk next to them indicates that no digital sales were included in those figures. So, for example, Kirby Star Allies might be higher than the #4 spot if we included digital sales. The games that have a double asterisk next to them indicates that no PC digital sales were included.
“Sea of Thieves was the second best-selling game of March, and is the eighth best-selling game of 2018 year to date,” said NPD analyst Mat Piscatella. “Sea of Thieves generated the highest launch month sales for any title produced by developer Rare since tracking by The NPD Group began in 1995.”
