It was a great night for Nintendo at the 2017 Game Awards as they took home numerous prizes. The Switch has been on a roll ever since it was released earlier this year and its library has been growing at a rapid pace. Nintendo’s first party has also proved that they still have it with the plethora of awards that they took home.

Super Mario Odyssey

Best Handheld Game

Metroid: Samus Returns

Best Game Direction

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Best Action/Adventure Game

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Best Strategy Game - Developed by both Nintendo and Ubisoft

Mario & Rabbids: Kingdom Battle

In addition to all of those awards there are were other nominations as well, such as Super Mario Run and Fire Emblem Heroes for Best Mobile Game. Nintendo Switch exclusive fighting game ARMS was also nominated as one of the year’s best fighting games. Splatoon 2 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe were nominated as two of the best multiplayer games of the year.

With all of that taking place we also had the surprise reveal that Bayonetta 3 is coming exclusively to the Switch and that the second DLC pack for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is available right now.
