The Assassin’s Creed movie is now available digitally as well as in stores. It did fairly well in the theaters with over 241 million gross worldwide and now it is available to own. Best Buy currently has a really nice steelbook edition on sale for $24.99 where you get the 4K Blu Ray version, the standard Blu Ray version and then a code for a digital version so you can watch on the go. Just the standard blu ray version by itself is on sale for $19.99 and the DVD version is available for $14.99.
For those who might not have followed what the movie is about, a brief summary is below:
”Cal Lynch travels back in time to 15th-century Spain through a revolutionary technology that unlocks the genetic memories contained in his DNA. There, he lives out the experiences of Aguilar de Nerha, a distant relative who's also a member of the Assassins, a secret society that fights to protect free will from the power-hungry Templar Order. Transformed by the past, Cal begins to gain the knowledge and physical skills necessary to battle the oppressive organization in the present.”
Currently there are sequels planned for the movie which will hopefully pick up right where this movie left off but no official announcements or plans have been revealed. Did you go check out Assassin’s Creed in the theater or were you waiting for the home release? If you are a fan of the franchise you should definitely check it out. If you aren’t familiar with the franchise you should check it out as well as they did a pretty good job of walking that fine line of trying to cater to established fans of the series while also trying to bring in a whole new fanbase.
