News: Microsoft has added some new games into the Xbox One backwards compatibility program, including a popular RPG from Bethesda.
Some new games got added to the Xbox One backwards compatibility library today and one of them is a title a lot of people have been waiting to see make the jump. The new backwards compatible titles include The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Astro Pop, Medal of Honor: Airborne and Trine 2. As with all of the backwards compatible titles the DLC is also available for these titles. If you own the digital version of a backwards compatible title then all you have to do is go to your “Ready to Install” section and it should show up there. Begin the installation from there and you are good to go. If you own the disc version of a backwards compatible game then put the disc into the Xbox One and begin the installation. It will ping the Xbox Live servers and tell you that it needs to download an update. That update is in fact the game itself and once it is installed the Xbox One will use the disc for verification purposes. A brief description of each game is below:
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
“Step inside the most richly detailed and vibrant game-world ever created. Oblivion is the latest chapter in the epic Elder Scrolls saga. With a powerful combination of freeform gameplay and unprecedented graphics, you can unravel the main quest at your own pace or explore the vast world and find your own challenges.”
Astro Pop
“Choose from four space pilots, each with unique abilities and weaponry, to grab and blast bricks and clear a path to the stars. AstroPop blends two different gameplay modes (Classic and Survival) with 33 challenging bonus rounds, offering hours of replay fun for all ages.”
Medal of Honor: Airborne
“Take to the skies in Medal of Honor Airborne, where your choices will turn the tide of WWII. Starting with your jump from a C-47, every choice you make can seal your fate. In the air, control your parachute to select the landing spot that brings you the greatest strategic advantage. On the ground, explore the open, vertical environment for positions that will provide you a tactical edge against your enemies. Then, head onto Xbox LIVE for furious multiplayer battles in three different modes, including all-new Airborne modes! You decide where to drop, you decide how to fight. It's a different war every time.”
Trine 2
“A high-fantasy, physics-based action platformer with cooperative online multiplayer. The sequel to GameSpot.com's Best Downloadable Game of E3 2009, Trine 2 takes the first game's beloved triad-the powerful knight, the swift rogue, and the crafty wizard-and puts them into an all-new adventure filled with more action, more puzzles, and the introduction of online support for the series's popular cooperative 3-person gameplay.”
