News: Harmonix has released a new virtual reality game for the PS VR where you can take your music library to the next level.
Harmonix has revealed that Harmonix Music VR is now available on PlayStation VR. Harmonix Music VR provides you with a collection of four unique worlds that takes your music library to the next level. There is a wacky dance party, 3D reactive art, a psychedelic trip and even a nice relaxing alien beach.
Harmonix Music VR will work with any song in your library. The game will also include a soundtrack featuring 17 music tracks from other Harmonix titles and composers. Plug in a USB flash drive loaded with MP3s of your favorite songs, and Harmonix’s internal music analysis engine does the rest.
The “worlds” in Harmonix Music VR include the following:
The Beach
You can chill on a transforming alien beach in The Beach, Harmonix Music VR’s introductory experience. If you are new to virtual reality, or just feel like sitting down and relaxing to your music, this world is a great place to start.
The Easel
This is where you can explore your creative side by creating reactive 3D drawings. You can get as creative as you want as each brush and object reacts differently to the music. Once you’ve created your masterpiece, be sure to take a screenshot and share it with the world, or save your creation and try it out with other songs.
The Trip
The trip is another one of Harmonix’s “sit down and chill” experiences, although it isn’t for the faint of heart. It is essentially like climbing inside a kaleidoscope. You can leave your body behind and take a journey through your soundtrack with this abstract, psychedelic, song-driven experience.
The Dance
This is where you can get the dance party started. This world lets you choreograph dance moves for wacky characters. You can also virtually eat cake.
Harmonix Music VR is available now on the PlayStation Store for $14.99. Does this seem like something you would be interested in? Tell us in the comments below.
