News: If you bought a workout or something else off of Xbox Fitness over the last few years than Microsoft will be issuing you a credit.
Microsoft has revealed that they are shutting down Xbox Fitness next year on Xbox One. This is disappointing news for those who still use the program. For those who spent money buying different workouts and things like that Microsoft has stated that they will refund your money to you. If you purchased Xbox Fitness workouts or similar content they will not be made available to you after June 30, 2017. Because of this Microsoft will deposit a credit equal to the dollar value of those purchases into your Microsoft account, assuming they haven’t already done so. This credit will be valid through December 31, 2017 so you have a while to decide what you want to spend it on.
No real reason was given for ending this service but at least you are getting money back so you can buy other games or content. In an increasingly digital world one of the worries that gamers have is what happens to their games once they run their course and servers are taken offline or the game is no longer available. At least in this instance you get the money deposited back into your Microsoft account and it would definitely be nice if this became the norm going forward with other companies.
