News: You can now play select Xbox 360 games on your Xbox One and we tell you how to do it.

”Xbox

Backwards compatibility is now available on Xbox One. The New Xbox One Experience began rolling out to everyone earlier this morning and now you can play your Xbox 360 games that are on the backwards compatibility list on your Xbox One. To be able to play your Xbox 360 games on your Xbox One you will need to do the following:

Digital Games

If you own the digital version of Assassin’s Creed II it is simple. Go to your “My Games and Apps” and then go to “Games.” Once you are there scroll all the way to the right. You will see a “Ready to Install” section. Assassin’s Creed II should be sitting there waiting for you to install it. Hit the “start” button to bring up a menu and tell your Xbox One to install it. Once it is installed you will then be able to play it just like you do your Xbox One games.

Physical Games

If you own the physical copy of Assassin’s Creed II then it is a little different. Put the game in the console. Once it is there then go to install it just like you do an Xbox One game. Once you do that you will be told that there is an “update” that needs to be downloaded. This “update” is the game itself being downloaded off of Xbox Live. Once the game is downloaded then you can play it just like you do your Xbox One games. Please keep in mind though that if you install the game from a disc then you will always need the disc inside your Xbox One to play the game, just like you have to do with physical copies of your Xbox One games.

Which Xbox 360 game are you going to play first on your Xbox One? Tell us what you are going to play below.
