The Star Wars Battlefront beta is now available for download on both Xbox One, PS4 and PC. This is a technical test and is meant to give you a small taste of what to expect once Star Wars Battlefront launches next month. This beta is completely open to everyone, meaning you don’t have to pre-order or really do anything. Just hit download in the Xbox Store, PlayStation Store or Origin and then have fun playing it once it is downloaded.
This beta will allows you to experience three modes across three iconic planets in the Star Wars universe. They include:
Drop Zone on Sullust
In this mode escape pods are crashing down and your team must fight to control them. With its 8v8 matches, Drop Zone will put your combat and strategy skills to the test.
Survival Mission on Tatooine
In this mode you can either play solo or with a friend. If you choose to play with a friend you can do so via co-op or split screen. You will have to battle to hold off waves of Imperial forces including AT-ST’s, TIE fighters, elite stormtroopers and more.
Walker Assault on Hoth
This is the one a lot of people will probably spend a good amount of time with. Here you have 40 player battles as a Rebel to destroy the Empire’s onslaught of AT-AT’s by calling in Y-wing bombers. Or, side with the Empire and protect your walkers while utilizing their weaponry to crush the Rebels.
EA has also revealed that the Star Wars Battlefront Companion experience will also be available during the beta. The beta begins today and will end on October 12.
