News: If you have had problems with the Master Chief Collection and have played multiplayer between November and December 19 you are getting a free game.
Halo: The Master Chief Collection has had its share of problems since it launched a little over a month ago. While a lot of problems have been fixed (and there are incoming fixes for those problems still not fixed) 343 Industries has revealed how they are going to make this up to Halo fans everywhere. According to Bonnie Ross, Head of 343 Industries, there is a lot of content coming to the Master Chief Collection, including Halo 3: ODST. The best part about it is those Halo fans who have played Master Chief Collection online between the game’s launch (11/11/14) and through today (12/19/14) will be getting a bunch of free content. If you meet this criteria you will receive the following:
1 Month of Xbox Live Gold
Exclusive In-Game Nameplate
Exclusive In-Game Avatar
Halo 3: ODST
Yep, that is not a typo. 343 Industries has heard the fans say they want Halo 3: ODST on the Xbox One and, not only is that game coming to X1, but it is coming to fans for free (as long as you meet the aforementioned criteria). Additionally, there is going to be more Halo 2: Anniversary multiplayer map content coming as well. Further details regarding those two items include:
Halo 3: ODST - Development has just started on Halo 3: ODST which means it will be a little while before it is ready to go. When it is done though it will be available via a free update and become part of the Master Chief Collection. It will also be upgraded to 1080p resolution, running at 60fps. No word yet on how much this add-on will cost if you don’t qualify for the free offer.
”Relic” Halo 2: Anniversary Multiplayer Map - This will be available as a content update as well and will be the fan favorite map “Relic” reimagined, full remastered and running at 1080p, 60 frames per second. Bonnie said they selected this map based on its suitability for Slayer and Objective modes and it’s ability to support teams of varying sizes.
Well there you have it. The beta for Halo 5 will also open up on December 29th and run for a few weeks.
