Xbox One pre-orders bundled with FIFA 14 in Europe, adds Fable Legends to games lineup

Xbox One News: Microsoft holds a small invite-only gathering for press at Gamescom; announces new games and exclusive content coming to Xbox One.

The Microsoft GamesCom 2013 press conference was an invite-only briefing, but the Xbox One news coming out of the event is going to be far-reaching for the company chances against rival PS4 this holiday season.

Xbox One will empower independent developers - large and small - through a new self publishing program, Microsoft revealed in Germany. Xbox One Independent Games will have access to Xbox One - Kinect, SmartGlass, Xbox Live, rich analytics, and the cloud. Chris Charla (@locat) is the new head of the Xbox Independent Games program.

The next Fable game is Fable Legends, and it's coming to Xbox One. Fable Legends is set in an online action world where you can choose to play as a hero or as a villain in true Fable style.

This Germany-based GamesCom event played to the European crowd by announcing that all Xbox One pre-orders will receive a copy of FIFA 14 while stock lasts. Bundling the most popular sport with the new console certainly makes the higher price of the system easier to swallow. After all, Microsoft is also including the camera with every console.

FIFA 14 Ultimate Team Legends is coming to Xbox - Legends mode coming exclusively to FIFA 14 Ultimate Team on Xbox One.

"Yesterday’s heroes are today’s legends. #FUTLegends. Only On Xbox One," tweeted the official EA Sports FIFA twitter account.

Fighter from Within from Ubisoft is also coming exclusively to Xbox One and is a Kinect fighting game. Ubisoft also revealed at GamesCom The Division will have exclusive Xbox One DLC before and after the launch of the game.

The next MojangTeam title, Cobalt, is coming to Xbox 360 and Xbox One and will take the form of a multiplayer platform shooter.

Call of Duty will have dedicated servers on Xbox One, much to the delight of the series' hardcore, multiplayer fanbase. A Call of Duty: Ghosts Xbox One bundle including exclusive content is coming and map packs continue to be first on Xbox Live.

GamesCom hosted another new game, Kinect Sports Rivals, which creates an awesome “You” character by scanning you with Kinect. Even more casual is Peggle 2, an Xbox One launch title and a timed-exclusive for Xbox One. Likewise, Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare will be a timed-exclusive for Xbox One, but its release date isn't until Spring 2014.
