News: Sony has released a new Vita firmware version that makes it even easier to use PS Plus on the Vita along with devices and more.
PlayStation Vita has a new firmware update. Earlier this evening Sony “flipped the switch” that released firmware 2.60 to everyone even though, for some strange reason, it isn’t being officially acknowledged on their site.
The new features for firmware version 2.60 are as follows:
You can now easily upload and download your saved data using online storage. Select the PlayStation Plus icon on the LiveArea screen for each application. (A subscription to PlayStation Plus is necessary.)
You can now play content saved on a connected device (PS3 or PC) with [Videos] and [Music]
Some items have been added to the menu that appears when you press and hold the PS button
[Devices] has been newly added under [Settings], and [Bluetooth Settings] has been moved under [Devices]
After looking at the new features you are told to go to www.playstation.com to get more details on the usability of the many features that has been improved. Unfortunately, as of the time this story was posted, PlayStation.com doesn’t mention the new Vita firmware. It is almost as if this firmware was released too early and not everyone was ready for it.
