Celebrity Gaming Challenge set to launch this fall in New England

News: Blind Sheep Studios and Gameflak team up with Microsoft to help out charities with the new Celebrity Gaming Challenge.

Blind Sheep Studios and Gameflak have just revealed that they have entered into a new partnership with Microsoft for the creation of the first of its kind of video-game show, Celebrity Gaming Challenge. Set to launch this Fall, the television show will feature two New England Patriot players as the celebrity team captains and some of New England’s best gamers as they fight for the title of Celebrity Gaming Champion. The competition will take place using the Xbox 360 platform and some of the hottest titles to come out in 2013. The specific game will be chosen the night of the event to truly test out the competitors.

The competition will begin with three qualifying rounds at Microsoft retail stores in the New England area. Contestants will compete in an elimination round robin tournament with the final two winners from each location moving on to the final Celebrity Gaming Challenge on October 23. The dates for the preliminary round are as follows:

October 18 - Microsoft store at the Natick Mall in Natick, MA

October 19 - Microsoft store in Salem, MA

October 20 - Microsoft store at The Shops at Prudential Center in Boston, MA

The preliminary rounds are open to the public and if you are interested you can sign up and register at www.Celebqc.com. In addition to competing in the Celebrity Gaming Challenge final, competitors will have an opportunity to compete for valuable prize packages. The competition field is limited to 400 participants per location so be sure to sign up before those slots are gone.

The Celebrity Gaming Challenge final will feature the two New England Patriot captains drafting their respective team members from the pool of preliminary winners via an NFL style draft. The Celebrity Team Captains and their team will then go head to head to battle it out not only for pride but also for an opportunity to win for their favorite charity. Once the video game has been randomly selected, the competition will begin and consist of five rounds/five games and each round a team will be given an objective to complete. By reaching each objective the teams will have the opportunity to add to their overall earnings for their respected charities. In situations resulting in a tie, the teams will face off in a tie breaker/bonus round to decide the winning team. At the end of the five games the team with the most earnings will be crowned the winner and the charity of their choice will receive the earnings.
