Xbox 360 Live Is Back News: A brief outage made the Xbox 360 service go offline, leaving CoD Black Ops 2 and Halo 4 multiplayer players were unable to connect for an hour.
The Xbox Live outage by error 807b01f7 disconnected a large portion of the Xbox 360 online community on Nov. 16 and into Nov. 17, one day after Xbox Live’s 10th anniversary.
In addition to the milestone making it bad timing for Xbox Live to be down, the release date for CoD Black Ops 2 was Tuesday, meaning it was the first weekend for many gamers to play the online multiplayer. Activision and developer Treyarch are even allowing certain players to earn more points through
a CoD Black Ops 2 Double XP Weekend.
Error 807b01f7 was also bad timing for one of Microsoft’s own games, Halo 4. It too had a recent release date, November 6, so many gamers took to Twitter to report their dissatisfaction with the Xbox Live outage.
Xbox Live’s outage could easily be explained if it was because there was an overload of users playing these two popular games. After all,
CoD Black Ops 2 sold $500 million worth of copies on day one alone.
